Ingredients:

  • 3 cups sorrel , heaped , without seeds
  • 3 pieces rice
  • 1 oranges , zest of or 1 piece orange
  • 6 cloves
  • 1 lb sugar

Directions:

  1. Wash sorrel, cut away seeds.
  2. Place in jar with orange peel & cloves.
  3. Pour on boiling water.
  4. Allow to remain for 24 hours.
  5. Strain & sweeten with sugar.
  6. Pour into bottles, adding few grains of rice (this helps fermentation).
  7. Allow to remain for at least another day.
  8. Serve with ice.
