Poor Man's Rice Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup molasses or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pinch mace
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 tbsp butter

Directions:

  1. Wash rice. Combine with molasses or maple syrup, salt, mace and milk. Put in a deep well-buttered dish and bake in a 300°F. oven for 3 hours. Stir several times during the first hour. After 2 hours, stir in the butter.
