Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4-1 cup water or 3/4-1 cup milk , to moisten dough
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Mix the dough ingredients together and divide into 9 or 10 balls.
  2. Roll balls into flat circles and fill with potatoes and onion filling.
  3. Fold in half.
  4. Press to seal edges.
  5. Drop in boiling water.
  6. When they come to the top, remove with slotted spoon and drain.
  7. Fry the cooked pierogie in a small amount of butter on high heat until browned an both sides.
  8. Serve at once.
