Dandy Candy Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1- 12 oz jar peanut butter ( creamy )
  • 1- cup granualed sugar
  • 1- cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 stick of buttered flavored crisco or ( 1/2 cup of butter flavored vegeatble shortening ) plus additional for greasing..............
  • 3- eggs
  • 3/4 - tsp vanilla
  • 3/4- tsp maple syrup
  • 2- tsp baking soda
  • 1- package ( 8 oz or more of ) m& m' s candies

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees f. grease baking sheet with shortening
  2. Place sheets of foil on countertop for cooling cookies
  3. Combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and 1/2 cup shortening in large bowl
  4. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended and fluffy
  5. Add eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup.
  6. Beat at high speed for 3- 4 minutes
  7. Add baking soda and 2 1/4 cups oats ; stir
  8. Stir in candy ( m& m's)
  9. Stir in remaining 2 1/4 cups oats..........
  10. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
  11. Flatten slightly
  12. Place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet
  13. Bake at 350 degrees f. for .9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies
  14. And 11 to 12 minutes for crispy cookies
  15. Cool 2 minutes then remove cookies to the foil to cool completely
  16. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies .............
