Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Saute meat in shortening, adding a portion of the spices, until brown.
  2. Add flour and stir until the flour is brown.
  3. Mix the other ingredients, including remaining spices, in a large pot.
  4. Add the meat mixture and bring to a boil and then simmer, stirring occasionally, for at least one hour.
  5. Add additional jalapeno peppers to increase flavor if desired.
