Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups bisquick
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp shortening
  • 1/3 cup cocoa
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350*.
  2. Grease and flour square pan, 8x8x2.
  3. Beat all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds.
  4. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 4 minutes.
  5. Pour into pan.
  6. Bake until wooden pick inserted comes out clean, about 35 minutes, cool.
