Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 12 cardamom seeds, crushed
  • 3 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add milk and beaten eggs and dry ingredients.
  3. Put into a 9X13 pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, do not underbake.
  5. When warm, cut into 1/2 inch strips,3 across.
  6. Toast in 300 degree oven on cookie sheets about 30 minutes on each side.
