Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Blend 1 1/2 cups sugar and melted butter.
  2. Beat in eggs.
  3. Stir in almond and vanilla extracts.
  4. Add salt and flour and mix well.
  5. Spread batter evenly in a greased-and-floured, 9-inch round pan.
  6. Sprinkle with toasted almonds and sugar for garnish.
  7. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. (Toast almonds ahead or in oven while it is preheating.).
