Auntie Sharon's Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Combine shortening, sugars until smooth.
  2. Add egg and water, mix well.
  3. Add all dry ingredients, except oatmeal and chocolate chips. MIx well.
  4. Add oatmeal, and mix.
  5. Add chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed.
  6. Drop onto greased cookie sheet.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
