Apple Cake - Bakerella

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together flour, baking soda and cinnamon with a wire whisk and set aside.
  3. Combine sugar and oil using a mixer until blended.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  5. Add flour mixture and mix well.
  6. Stir in nuts, dates and apples. The batter will be very thick.
  7. Pour into a greased and floured 9 X 13 pan and bake for 40-45 minutes or until done.
  8. Cool cake and using a skewer, poke holes in cake.
  9. Cook topping ingredients on stove until mixture bubbles.
  10. Pour topping over cake letting some seep into the cake.
