Apple-butter Bars Mix  (gift in a Jar)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups quick oats
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup pecans or 1 cup walnuts, chopped

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  2. Cooking Instructions: Layer ingredients in a jar, in order given.
  3. Press each layer down before adding next.

  5. Spoon out nuts; set aside.
  6. Empty bar mix into a large bowl.
  7. Add 1 cup melted butter or margarine; mix well.
  8. Press half of batter into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch greased pan.
  9. Mix 1 1/2 cups apple butter with nuts.
  10. Spread over batter in pan.
  11. Add remaining mixture.
  12. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes or until browned.
