Andouille Sausage and Basmati Rice

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Slice sausage into 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices.
  2. Or dice into 1/2 inch dice.
  3. Place in a ten inch skillet with lid.
  4. Add 1/2 cup water.
  5. Steam on medium heat for 15 minutes, covered.
  6. Remove lid and brown sausage until water is gone.
  7. Add rice and brown quickly.
  8. Add remaining water and bring to a boil.
  9. Boil until bubbles are no longer breaking the surface of the rice.
  10. Turn heat to lowest setting and cover.
  11. Let steam for about 10 - 12 minutes.
  12. Remove from heat and let stand for up to 30 minutes.
  13. Fluff with a fork and serve.
  14. No more seasonings should be needed.
