Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 cup ale 8 soft drink (reserve remaining 4 oz from 12 oz can)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 4 oz ale 8 soft drink , reserved above
  • 1 (16 oz) box confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl-set aside.
  3. Mix butter, cocoa, and Ale 8.
  4. Bring to a boil, but do not boil.
  5. Pour hot mixture over flour and sugar.
  6. Mix well.
  7. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, and vanilla.
  8. Beat until smooth then add marshmallows.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  10. Topping.
  11. Mix together 4 oz of Ale 8, butter, cocoa.
  12. Bring to a boil.
  13. Pour over confectioner's sugar.
  14. Beat until smooth.
  15. Pour over cake while hot.
