Quick Crescent Baklava

Ingredients:

  • 2 (8 oz) cans crescent dinner rolls
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp butter

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls into 2 long rectangles.
  3. Place in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan, press over bottom and 1/2 inch up sides to form crust.
  4. Seal perforations.
  5. Bake for 5 minutes.
  6. In a large bowl, combine walnuts, 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon; mix well.
  7. Spoon evenly over crust.
  8. Unroll remaining can of crescent rolls into 2 long rectangles.
  9. Place over walnut mix.
  10. Press out to edges of pan.
  11. With tip of knife, score dough with 5 lengthwise and 7 diagonal marking to form 28 diamonds.
  12. In a small saucepan combine all ingredients.
  13. Bring to a boil, remove from heat.
  14. Spoon 1/2 of glaze evenly over dough.
  15. Bake 25-30 minutes until golden.
  16. Spoon remaining glaze ove baklava.
  17. Refrigerate and cut.
