Ingredients:

  • desserts winner: denise trombly, of nashua
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1/2 lb butter
  • bottle of karo syrup
  • 1 (14-oz) can condensed milk

Directions:

  1. Mix first three ingredients, and boil for 10 minutes
  2. Add the can of condensed milk. Bring to a boil one more time. Stir for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour on buttered cookie sheet.
  4. Cut, with a buttered knife, into strips, then into thumb-sized pieces and wrap tightly in waxed paper. Keep in tightly covered container.
