L Ossa Morte - Dead Bones Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb confectioners' sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 1/2 tsp ground cloves

Directions:

  1. Sift sugar, flour, baking powder and cloves together.
  2. Make a well in the center.
  3. Pour eggs into well.
  4. Work the eggs into the mixture, first with a fork and then with your fingers.
  5. Make a smooth dough.
  6. Line baking sheet with foil.
  7. Roll dough into 1 balls and place on sheet about 2 apart.
  8. Flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass.
  9. Cover with a clean dish towel and let rest overnight.
  10. Cookies will spread.
  11. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F/175 degrees C.
  12. Bake about 15 minutes OR until golden.
  13. Remove cookies from pan immediately as they come from the oven or they will stick.
  14. Cool completely on wire rack.
