Ken's Butter Tart Squares

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (measure after melting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 cup nuts , optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Combine the first three ingredients until crumbly.
  3. Press into an ungreased pan.
  4. Bake 5-7 minutes.
  5. Soak raisins in cold water for half an hour and thoroughly drain.
  6. Beat eggs and gradually add sugar, flour, vanilla. At this point you can add the melted butter and salt.
  7. Add raisins, nuts.
  8. Pour over the partially baked base.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until top is golden brown.
  10. Cool and cut into squares.
