Hot Bacon Dressing (For Spinach-Bacon Salad)

Ingredients:

  • reserved bacon drippings (from 1/2 lb bacon)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/3 cups white vinegar
  • 5 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 2/3 cups water

Directions:

  1. Heat bacon drippings in skillet.
  2. Add sugar and vinegar, stirring.
  3. Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
  4. Mix cornstarch with 2/3 cups water, and stir until dissolved. Pour into skillet.
  5. Return to a boil; simmer 5 minutes.
  6. Add to salad hot.
