Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Directions:

  1. Mix cornmeal,salt,baking powder and milk,mix thoroughly.
  2. Add the shortening.
  3. Place all the mixture into a hot skillet on high heat.
  4. Let a crust form.
  5. Stir, turn heat to low heat .
  6. Cover,cook for about 18 minutes.
  7. Couch Couch is served as a cereal with milk and sugar or honey( I like it with Molasses instead)
