Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs.
  2. In a separate bowl combine nutmeg, salt and flour.
  3. Stir flour mixture into milk, alternating between the two until mixed well.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Drop by tsp on greased cookie sheet.
  6. Sprinkle tops with sugar.
  7. Bake 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
