Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups flour , all-purpose
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions:

  1. Cut the shortening into the flour, baking powder and salt until mixture looks like fine crumbs. Stir in milk and chives.
  2. Drop onto hot chicken. Cook uncovered 10 minutes, then covered 20 minutes.
  3. (These cooking times are only for if you're fixing the dumplings for the chicken fricassee).
