Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cut stalks from okra.
  2. Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a large saucepan.
  3. Add okra, saute 6 minutes.
  4. Drain sauteed okra on paper towels.
  5. Discard oil, wipe pan with paper towels.
  6. Heat 2 more tablespoons oil in saucepan.
  7. Add onion and tomatoes, saute until heated through.
  8. Add ground beef- cook, stirring occasionally until browned.
  9. Add stock- bring to a boil.
  10. Add garlic and salt.
  11. Simmer until most of liquid has evaporated.
  12. Preheat oven to 350F.
  13. Brush a large baking pan with oil.
  14. Stir yogurt, sour cream and white pepper into beef mixture.
  15. Spoon half of the beef mixture over bottom of oiled pan.
  16. Cover with okra, then with remaining beef mixture.
  17. Sprinkle with remaining tablespoon oil.
  18. Bake 50-60 minutes.
  19. Garnish with tomato and lemon slices.
