Simple Lentil Soup

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb lentils
  • 8 cups water
  • 3 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp garlic
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Directions:

  1. Rinse lentils
  2. Put 8 cups of water in pot to boil
  3. Add lentils to water
  4. Chop one medium onion
  5. Add seasonings
  6. Allow to come to a boil
  7. Lower heat to medium and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until lentils are tender
  8. Allow to slightly cool before packaging in 1 cup containers
  9. Can be kept in refrigerator or frozen
