Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream the peanut butter, shortening ,brown sugar, white sugar and the egg. Stir the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Shape into small balls and place on a greased baking sheet approximately 3 inches apart. Press 1/2 thick with floured fork. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes or until nicely browned. Makes 4 dozen.
