Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp clove
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1 cup raisins

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine butter, shortening and sugars.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until fluffy.
  3. Combine flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.
  4. Add to creamed mixture; mix to blend.
  5. Stir in oatmeal and raisins.
  6. Drop a tablespoon of dough onto cookie sheet about 2-inches apart. Cookies will spread!
  7. Bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Cool for about 5 minutes on cookie sheet, then remove to a cooling rack.
