Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup molasses or 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp clove
  • 3/4 tsp ginger

Directions:

  1. Cream together sugar, egg, shortening, and molasses.
  2. Mix together dry ingredients. Add to sugar ingredients. Mix well.
  3. Drop by teaspoonful on greases cookie sheet.
  4. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until done.
