Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1-3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped

Directions:

  1. Combine dates & water in saucepan & cook until thick stirring constantly.
  2. Cool
  3. Cream butter & sugars; add egg & beat well. Add vanilla
  4. Combine date mixture & nuts
  5. Roll each dough portion into a rectangle
  6. Spread filling onto rolled out dough & roll into a tube like roll
  7. Chill overnight
  8. Slice & bake on a greased cookie sheet
  9. Degrees about 8 minutes or until lightly browned.
