Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar (sift if lumpy)

Directions:

  1. Combine melted butter, cocoa and salt; then add milk and vanilla.
  2. Mix in sugar in 3 parts.
  3. Mix until smooth and creamy. Add more sugar to thicken or milk to thin, if needed, for good spreading consistency.
  4. Frosts 2 - 8 or 9 inch layers or a 13x9 inch cake.
