Cajun Country Bread Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 4 3/4 cups milk, divided
  • 4 eggs
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup raisins (optional)
  • now for the sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup corn syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • dash salt
  • 10 little carmel (optional) i melt them and pour this mixture on top of the bread pudding

Directions:

  1. In a saucepan,
  2. Heat 4 cups of milk until warm; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine remaining milk, eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add warmed milk, stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in butter. Add bread cubes; soak 10 minutes.
  6. Add cinnamon, and pecans if you want add raisins .
  7. Pour into a 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking pan.
  8. Bake at 400 degrees F for 45-60 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  9. Meanwhile, for sauce, bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
  10. Add sugar; stir to dissolve.
  11. Add corn syrup. Bring to boil; cook 15-20 seconds.
  12. Remove from the heat; add remaining ingredients.
  13. Cut pudding into squares
  14. Pour the Praline sauce on tope and serve .
