Basic Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to temperature 375°F.
  2. Thoroughly mix margarine and powdered sugar.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat until blended.
  4. Add rest of the ingredients and blend well.
  5. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Sprinkle with granulated sugar or decorations.
  7. Bake until lightly browned, about 8 - 10 minutes.
  8. Makes 2 to 3 dozen, depending upon the size of the balls you make.
