Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 -4 tbsp ice water
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tbsp soft butter
  • 1 -2 tbsp cream or 1 -2 tbsp milk

Directions:

  1. Part 1: Cut butter into flour and add sufficient cold water to form into pie crust, divide into two balls. Flatten each into a 3 wide strip on cookie sheet.
  2. Part 2: Put water and butter in saucepan, and heat to boiling. Remove from stove and add flour all at once. Stir until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth each time. Add almond extract and spread onto the strips.
  3. Bake: 425 degrees F for 15 minutes.
  4. Then 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
  5. Cool and frost.
  6. Cut into 1 strips for serving.
