Spicy Chocolate Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2- cups shortening
  • 1 1/2- cups sugar
  • 1 1/2- cups brown sugar
  • 4- eggs
  • 2- tsp vanilla
  • 4- cups flour .sifted
  • 2- tsp baking soda
  • 4- tsp cinnamon
  • 1-tsp cloves
  • 1- tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Cream shortening and sugar until fluufy
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time
  3. Add vanilla
  4. Blend in all the dry ingredients....mix until blended
  5. Spread into- 2.-ungreased 15 1/2 inch x 10 1/2 inch x1 inch baking sheets
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the dough before baking
  7. Bake at 350 degrees f. for 20 minutes...........EASY..........
  8. Cut into bars while warm....then cool........

  10. Note from tink............for a softer cookie bar use less sugar........
