Ingredients:

  1. Combine all dressing ingredients and whisk together well.
  2. Refrigerate when done.
  3. (Note: You can thin the dressing with some buttermilk if you prefer) Prepare salad ingredients.
  4. Starting at the top of the above list, place each ingredient in the bottom of a clear glass container.
  5. For instance, iceberg lettuce goes in first, followed by the romaine lettuce, the julienned cucumber, the carrots and so forth.
  6. Don't be afraid to pack or compress the ingredients a bit as you go if you're running out of room.
  7. If you're serving the salad soon, add dressing when each layer is finished.
  8. Otherwise, reserve dressing until just before serving.
  9. When finished, refrigerate.
