My Moms Sunshine Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartat

Directions:

  1. Cook sugar and water until threads (not sure what this means)
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  3. Pour syrup over egg whites, continuing to beat until cool.
  4. Add beaten egg yolks and extract.
  5. Sift flour, salt, cream of tartar together 6 times.
  6. Fold in quickly.
  7. Pour into a ungreased tube pan.
  8. Bake in a slow over 325 degrees for one hour.
  9. Turn upside down.
  10. Allow to cool.
  11. Cut from Pan.
