Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp sour milk (drop of vinigar into milk)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup nuts
  • 4 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix together shortening, 1 cup sugar, eggs, and sour milk.
  3. Sift together and add baking soda, salt and flour.
  4. Stir in vanilla, apples and nuts.
  5. Mix and pour over top melted butter, 4TBS sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Bake one hour.
