James' Secret Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup oatmeal , blended
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Blend oatmeal to a fine powder in a blender.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. Cream butter and both sugars.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla to the butter/sugar mixture.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the large mixing bowl with the dry ingredients, and mix using a spoon.
  6. Add chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-14 minutes at 375 degrees F.
