  • use heavy duty freezer bags or freezer wrap
  • airtight plastic containers
  • double wrap when possible
  • label and color-code items for easy identification

Directions:

  1. Never thaw food in room temperature, because bacteria can build up.
  2. Thawing fish: - 1 lb. frozen fish takes 24 hours to thaw completely in the fridge, or one hour if quick-thawed, well-wrapped in cold water. - To thaw fish in the microwave, use only medium-low power.
