use heavy duty freezer bags or freezer wrap |
airtight plastic containers |
double wrap when possible |
label and color-code items for easy identification |
Directions:
1. Never thaw food in room temperature, because bacteria can build up. 2. Thawing fish: - 1 lb. frozen fish takes 24 hours to thaw completely in the fridge, or one hour if quick-thawed, well-wrapped in cold water. - To thaw fish in the microwave, use only medium-low power. |
