Cinnamon Rolls With Gossipy Sweet Roll Dough

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 4 1/2-5 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup brown sugar , packed

Directions:

  1. For dough, scald milk stir in butter or margarine, sugar and salt. Cool to lukewarm. In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add cooled milk mixture and eggs, mix well. Add flour to make a soft dough. On floured surface, knead for 7-8 minutes till smooth and elastic. Place in well greased bowl turning to grease the top. Cover and let rise till doubled, approximately 1 hour.
  2. Roll dough into rectangle, spread with softened butter or margarine and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and slice into 1 rolls. Place in greased baking pan. Cover and let rise. Just before baking, combine cream and brown sugar. Pour over rolls and bake for approximately 30 minutes at 350. Let stand for 2 minutes then turn out.
