Ingredients:

  • 1 fifth of vodka
  • 1 lb. of rock candy (ordered on line these days)
  • aunt mabel was lucky, she married estin the entrepeneur of his time. he owned the chevy dealership across the street, the gas station was attached and it had the original side-of -the road diner next to it. you could get homemade ice cream and they had jars and jars of old fashioned candy, horehound sticks, lollipops, and rock candy on ropes. anytime she put up the peaches, she just shopped across the street. estin would have a fit over her using his inventory until six weeks later when he could have a plastered peach

Directions:

  1. Mix in a crock and let stand six weeks. The longer the better.
  2. Since Florida doesn't have the cellars and cool temps of Aunt Mabel's mountain home. I mix mine in a stoneware canister with lid and keep it in the back of the frig. It takes a lot longer to get the perfect flavor. Serve on toothpicks.

  4. Alternately, Aunt Mabel would make up little tart tins of her lard and vinegar crust and put in a plastered peach and top it with freshly whipped cream.
