Spicy Molasses Crinkle Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. In large mixer bowl, beat the sugar, shortening,molasses and egg at medium speed until well blended. Add the remaining ingredients and mix at low speed until a soft dough forms.
  3. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in a dish of granulated sugar and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie/baking sheets.
  4. Bake 10-12 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!
