shortening (no substitutes just use plain white ), margarine (not butter), sugar, brown sugar (packed), eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, salt, milk chocolate or 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips, nuts (chopped optional)

flour, brown sugar, white sugar, butter (very soft but not melted ), vanilla, milk or 2 tbsp water, chocolate chip (or use m&m s mini candies)

soft butter (no margarine,please), sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, unsweetened cocoa + 1 heaping tsp., baking soda, salt, chocolate chips, chopped walnuts
