1. Dice onion very finely.
2. Add all other ingredients.
3. Stir well.
4. Pour over chicken or steak.
5. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours.
6. Remove meat from marinade and cook on barbecue to desired doneness.
7. Pour marinade into a small pot and bring to a boil.
8. Reduce heat and simmer until fairly thick.
9. Serve warm sauce on the side.
