1. Cream butter and sugar together.
2. Add eggs and mix.
3. Add syrup, dry ingredients, and nuts.
4. Mix well.
5. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350ºF for 30 minutes.
6. FROSTING: cook sugar, butter, milk for 1 minute.
7. Add chocolate chips and stir until melted.
8. Spread on bars while warm.
