  • 1 Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
  • 2 Set aside.
  • 3 Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan and preheat oven to 350°F Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • 4 Stir in eggs and vanilla until well blended.

  • 6 Add the peel, dates, and nuts.
  • 7 Put batter in baking dish, sprinkle with 1/2 tablespoons sugar, and bake until golden brown, 25-30 minutes.
