  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)

  • 3 Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl, stirring well with a whisk

  • 6 mixer at high speed for 1 minute.
  • 7 Add flour mixture, beating just until combined.
  • 8 Stir in chocolate chips and pecan. If you're eliminating pecans, add
  • 9 another 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
  • 10 Spread batter into an 8 square pan coated with cooking spray.
  • 11 Bake bars at 350 for 18-20 minutes or until golden and crusty on top.
