1. Preheat oven to 300°F.
2. Whip the egg whites until soft peaks form (the original recipe omitted this step).
3. Slowly stir in the brown sugar.
4. Add lemon juice.
5. Gradually stir in almonds.
6. Mix well.
7. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
8. Bake until golden brown, about 30-40 minutes.
