  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 1/2 cups water ( chicken broth or bouillon gives great flavor)
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp italian seasoning

  • 1 Heat olive oil in large sautee pan.
  • 2 Add onion, garlic, and rice to hot oil.
  • 3 Slightly cook rice mixture on low heat for 1-2 minutes, keep rice moving or it will burn.
  • 4 Add water and tomato sauce.
  • 5 Bring to roiling boil.
  • 6 Add all spices and seasonings.
  • 7 Slightly stir, reduce flame to simmer, and cover.
  • 8 Simmer for 15-20 minute or until majority of liquid is absorbed.
