1. Pour hot coffee over cinnamon pieces; cover and let stand about 1 hour.
2. Remove cinnamon and stir in cream.
3. Chill thoroughly.
4. Stir in coffee syrup.
5. To serve, pour into ice-filled glasses.
6. If desired, top with sweetened whipped cream and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Use cinnamon sticks as stirrers.
