  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup water , about 105-110f degrees
  • 2 cups scalded milk
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cups flour
  • cooking spray

  • 1 Dissolve yeast in water.
  • 2 In med mixing bowl combine milk, butter, and salt; cool to lukewarm.
  • 3 Add yeast mixture.
  • 4 Stir in flour to make stiff dough that still can be beaten with wooden spoon; beat well.
  • 5 Cover put in warm draftless place let rise til double about 30 minutes.
  • 6 Spray inside side of cans and put on greased Med/Hi hot griddle.
  • 7 Fill the cans half full with dough.
  • 8 Cook them til they are well risen and bottoms are lightly browned (you might have to adjust the heat to keep bottoms browning to fast).
  • 9 Flip cans and all, brown other side.
  • 10 Remove to cool, remove from cans.
  • 11 To serve split, toast.
  • 12 Serve with butter and jam.
